A fine time was had by all

Yesterday was quite pleasant, and I'd like to publically thank The Big Sexy for his help with the clair/plate/glass count. It was much appreciated.

I'd also like to point out that after the table was cleared we played Trivial Pursuit. Just by chance, the highly edumacated people with letters after their names (The Big Sexy, Trav and Erin) were one team, and we non-lettered people (Batman, Mike and I) were another. Needless to say, we won. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Glad to hear it all went well and that everyone had fun.

Very low key turkey day for me.
Football followed by dinner out with my mom, my sister, two of my aunts and my uncle.
Nice meal, had a nice bottle of merlot with it, some good conversation including a nice bearcat discussion with my uncle (Go Bearcats, we alumni need to stick together [img]wink.gif[/img] )
All in all, it was kind of subdued, but nice.
Home for more football, some hoops and another glass of wine for a nightcap.

While dinner was quite delicious and the chair count was to perfection, gae is quite remiss in educating the CDS on the details of the Trivial Pursuit game.

After a rash of questions like "What is the color of the sky," Team Gae went on to get five quick and easy pie pieces, then proceeded to choke as Team Big Sexy came back to tie and come oh-so-close with an opportunity to win the game (can you say "black box?")

Team Gae did not have to estimate how much is spent on liver transplants, or know what the 28th digit of pi is. Instead, they do know that Francis I has a stash of ultra-absorbent Da Vinci toilet paper hidden under his bathroom sink. You had to be there. greg wasn't. Nyah, nyah, nyah.

On sad note, The Big Sexy's little doggie (the black haired one) is in the hospital. Around 8:30 last night The Big Sexy noticed his hernia was looking a bit bigger and a lot redder. So The Big Sexy called the 24 hour vet, and they told The Big Sexy to bring him in right away.

The Big Sexy knew immediately that he was leaving Cougar there for surgery.

The vet brought up the possibility that some of Cougar's intestine would have to be removed and then sown back together. Fortunately, that did not happen, and he'll be able to return home tomorrow evening.

And it's only costing The Big Sexy $800-900! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Oh, gae, The Big Sexy needs to borrow the doggie gate for a few weeks. You'll have it back in time for your guests.

Cougar is very expensive. Last summer while The Big Sexy was in Myrtle Beach, Cougar got homesick, spazzed out, and the vet where he was boarded had to put him on an IV, as he got bloody diarreha (sp?). That set The Big Sexy back $400.

Then there were the back problems. Let's not forget the bladder stones.

The Big Sexy has spent thousands on the mutt. Is it worth it?

This is just my opinion - but I would say it is worth it, compared to the alternative. [img]frown.gif[/img]

What The Big Sexy failed to point out is that Batman, Mike and I have known each other for many years and have perfected secret, silent signals. It was the (secret, silent) consensus of Team gae to allow you all to get some pieces of the pie, just to save you from utter humiliation.

For the next time, the 28th digit of pi is 2.

You would be doing me a big favor by dropping the gate off. I've got window people stopping by after work, and another contractor is *supposed* to be stopping by. Then I have to drive back up to Finneytown to get Cougar. You're welcome to knock, but if I'm not home just leave it on the front porch.

I just need to keep him confined for a couple weeks.
